I’m Off to Compete for Esthetician of the Year (Again!)

The Competition of a Lifetime  - From the Treatment Room to the Stage  - My Heart, My Passion, My Why

Hello Friends,
I wanted to take a moment to share something very close to my heart, because if you’re reading this, you’re part of the journey. Today I’m heading off to the final step of The Skin Games, an international competition where hundreds of estheticians from all over the world have put countless hours in, and now the finalist attend the finals to showcase their work, their heart, and their expertise.
This isn’t my first time competing, I’ve had the honor of being runner-up for Esthetician of the Year twice, and over the past two years, I’ve received awards in 9 out of 10 categories, placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in them. But this year, I went big. I took on 7 different categories, each one focusing on a unique skin condition or client goal.
For the past few months, I’ve:
✨ Worked hands-on with each case study client, customizing every treatment at Yoso per each 8 week case study.
✨ Curated their at-home routines to support real, lasting change.
✨ Logged over 190 hours between treatments, writing, and video documentation.
✨ Wrote 70 pages of detailed case studies to share the journey, the ingredients, the science, and the results.
✨ Created 52 videos capturing the process, the protocols, and those magical skin transformations.
It’s been a lot — but every moment has been worth it.
On Friday, I’ll be in 7 back-to-back interviews between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, sitting in front of panels of 4 to 6 judges per category, answering questions about the choices I made, the ingredients I used, the results we achieved, and the why behind it all.
The cases I worked on this year really reflect the heart of what we do at Yoso — holistic, results-driven, tailored for every unique human who trusts us with their skin. My clients’ cases ranged from:

💫 Age Management — blending advanced technology with holistic techniques for pro-aging support.
💫 Acne — targeting inflammation, gut-skin connection, and gentle yet effective care for compromised skin.
💫 Compromised Skin — restoring and nurturing skin through illness recovery and immune challenges, bringing radiance back through resilience.
💫 Hyperpigmentation — addressing stubborn pigment with a whole-body approach, targeting internal triggers and external care to achieve healthy, balanced brightness.
💫 Holistic Esthetics — where energy work, lymphatic flow, and whole-body care met transformative skincare.
💫 Open — featuring a client with alopecia areata, who had experienced no regrowth after steroid injections and other conventional treatments — until we approached it holistically, combining advanced treatments, herbal support, and lifestyle shifts to spark new hair growth with retention.
💫 Open Medical — my second open case, working with a client whose body was covered in severe psoriasis, where we focused on soothing inflammation from within, rebuilding her skin’s barrier through topical support, and nurturing both her skin and her overall health.

💛 My Most Challenging Quest Yet

This has been, without question, one of the most challenging and transformative quests of my entire professional career. It’s been no small feat.
I laughed until my sides hurt and cried until I had no tears left. I’ve had sleepless nights filled with ideas and second-guessing, and moments where I felt unstoppable. There were complex situations where western medicine hadn’t been able to achieve the desired outcome, yet through persistence, creativity, and taking a truly holistic and integrative approach, I witnessed breakthroughs that felt nothing short of magic.
This competition pushes me to constantly evolve — to never settle, to explore deeper, to think bigger, all so I can show up and give my very best to every client who walks through our doors. It’s about honoring the trust you place in me, and showing that skin health is so much more than skin deep.

🌿 Deep Gratitude

I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lauren Fleming, our amazing acupuncturist and herbalist at Yoso, whose herbal wisdom played a vital role in supporting my Open and Open Medical case studies. Her collaborative care helped us achieve changes that went far beyond the skin.
I’m endlessly thankful to my incredible product and technology sponsors — NeoGenesis, ProCell Therapies, Lumara, Celluma and Jackie App — whose innovative tools and support allowed me to push boundaries, create transformation, and show what’s possible when cutting-edge science meets holistic care.

✨ A Very Special Guest This Year

This year is extra special for another reason — I’m bringing my youngest daughter, Braysen, with me.
She was absolutely adamant about coming, not just to cheer me on, but to witness all the work, the passion, the tears, and the heart I’ve poured into this. She told me she wants to see me walk across that stage and finally hear my name called as Esthetician of the Year.
Having her there beside me, seeing her eyes light up with pride,  that alone would make this journey worth it.

🌸 Why March 8th Matters So Much

And if all of that wasn’t enough, this year’s Awards Night falls on Saturday, March 8th — International Women’s Day (Which also happens to be my oldest daughter iylee's 15th birthday!)
Of all the days to stand on a stage, to celebrate the work of my hands, my mind, and my heart — this is the day.
It’s a day that honors the strength, resilience, creativity, and brilliance of women everywhere. A day that reminds us that what we do matters — the way we show up for ourselves, our families, our communities, and each other matters.
To stand there, not just as a competitor, but as a woman, a single mother, a small business owner, a healer, and a dreamer who has never stopped believing in what’s possible, that’s a moment I will carry with me forever.
And whether I’m holding an award or not, I’ll be holding my head high knowing that I gave it my all, not just for myself, but for every woman who’s ever wondered if she was enough.
Whether you’ve been with me for years or are brand new to Yoso, this competition is so much bigger than me, it’s a celebration of everything we believe in. Real results. Real care. Real connection between what’s happening on your skin and in your life.
I’ll be sharing updates along the way, so keep an eye on our social (and send me all the good vibes). Thank you for always cheering me on — I couldn’t do this without the support of this beautiful community.
With so much gratitude and so much love, Jennalee
